April 2026

God is good every day, and every day God is good.” That phrase impacted my life when I first heard it in a movie, where two pastors, one African American and one European American, were talking about various topics, and as a conclusion, they said that phrase.

Many things have happened this March, some very good and some not so good, but in conclusion, God is good every day, and every day God is good. At the beginning of this mission to make disciples in the state of Guanajuato, Marco, Jazz, and I thought that many deaf people would believe in the gospel and that we would strive to make that happen. But as the years passed, we realized that many of the deaf people with whom we shared the gospel didn’t want an encounter with Christ, but only a social club to belong to—a social club that would give them things like money, a car, objects, and a personal sign language interpreter. If they didn’t get these things, they would leave the church. This situation moved Marco and Jazz because, although we know cognitively that it is the work of the Spirit of Christ who convicts, Marco and Jazz had hoped that more people would follow Christ, and that didn’t happen. We’ve worked hard sharing the gospel with many deaf people, and in four years, we’ve reached 160. Our goal is that one day 3,000 will be baptized in a single day, just like it says in the book of Acts. Marco told me that I once hoped that would happen. Our vision has changed, and it’s no longer just about making disciples of deaf people who believe, but about evangelizing ALL deaf people in the state of Guanajuato, regardless of whether they believe or not. Of course, if they believe, that would be amazing—more deaf people for Christ! But our efforts are now focused on sharing the good news with all deaf people without the stress and discouragement of some not wanting to believe or giving up halfway through. We trust that the Holy Spirit will bring them conviction of sin. We will continue striving to evangelize and disciple, but the rest is up to God.

The deaf brothers and sisters who have chosen to be faithful to Christ, wow! I respect them because they have faced difficulties but have remained faithful.

The municipalities that have remained loyal are:

  • Leon
  • Salamanca
  • Irapuato
  • Celaya
  • Apaseo el Grande
  • Querétaro

In those municipalities, our deaf brothers and sisters have been faithful. We are working hard with them, and their faith comforts us, as we have unfortunately faced many attacks from the enemy. He uses other deaf “Christians” to cause them to stumble, since these deaf “Christians” are jealous of our work. Some are in León and others in Irapuato. We ask for your prayers for these deaf “Christians” so that God may open their eyes and they may repent of the evil they are doing, and so that we can work together. We are willing to teach them how to evangelize. We are open to working together because the goal is for them to know what Christ did on the cross for them and to repent so that they may receive eternal life.

As an example of men and women who have remained faithful:

Pedro from Irapuato: This man has an amazing way of acting in relation to Christ. Yes, he has some shortcomings; he’s not perfect, but his love for Christ has shown us some truly remarkable things. In March, we visited his home to be with his wife, Violeta. She is deaf and quite resistant to the gospel, but since Pedro quit drugs, Violeta has accepted that it was God who took away his addiction. Now, Violeta and Pedro have agreed to host the church in their home and hold the classes for the Christian Formation School for the Deaf there. Wow! I never thought I’d see Violeta say that. God is good every day, and every day God is good.

Romeo from Querétaro: He is experiencing infidelity from his wife, and they have decided to separate. They are not divorced, but they are currently separated. Both are receiving support, restoration, and prayer, and it is working. In April, we will have a meeting with them so they can reunite as a family. Romeo is progressing well in the gospel, and his wife, María Vicente, is too—another restored marriage. Hallelujah! God is so good every day!

There are more people, but I wanted to highlight these two people because they have a deep desire to serve God.

In the city of Celaya, we had the opportunity to find a church that had a Mexican Sign Language (LSM) interpreter at the First Baptist Church, and we passed the mission to that church. The first fruit of the work of that church was the baptism of Mariana on Sunday, April 5th, by Pastor Javier, who pastors that church. The First Baptist Church of Celaya is now working for themselves, and we are only going there to encourage them.

On Sunday, April 5th, Mónica, from the city of León, was baptized in the city of Celaya. I asked Pastor Javier for permission, and he gave me the opportunity to do it before hearing churches from the municipalities of Salvatierra, Tarimoro, and Celaya. That day, 12 hearing people and 2 deaf people were baptized, which is why there are so many people in the baptism video; there was a gathering of hearing churches from these three municipalities.

In conclusion: GOD IS VERY GOOD EVERY DAY, AND EVERY DAY GOD IS VERY GOOD!!! Marco and Jazz found jobs a month ago and are happy. We continue to meet on Wednesdays via video call to pray for the work we received from the Holy Spirit to share the gospel, and I teach them about Jesus Christ through the Bible.
