May-June 2026

Summer visits were to the deaf brothers and sisters of Irapuato, León, Querétaro, and Celaya.

Celaya:
The First Baptist Church, along with its Mexican Sign Language interpreter, Sister Patricia, has been ministering to the brothers and sisters in that city and in the neighboring city of Apaseo el Grande. Recently, a deaf person named Miriam was baptized. She is the first deaf person baptized by the First Baptist Church, and this was the work of this same church in collaboration with Marco, Jazzkara, and me. On the same day, taking advantage of the baptisms, we decided to baptize another deaf person from the city of León named Mónica. Glory to God! This is why God is reaching deaf people. We have made great efforts to ensure continuity, discipling them and helping them grow in faith.

Irapuato:
Alejandro’s family has decided to open their home to host a church for the deaf. We’ve already held two meetings there, starting with five people. Marco and his wife, Jazzkara, led workshops on marriage, which were a great success. In May and June, they will offer training to more deaf couples, beginning with Christian couples and then expanding to Christian and Catholic couples. These workshops will be held at Alejandro’s house. If a good number of couples attend, we will rent a conference room at a hotel.

Glory to God because Alejandro’s wife, Violeta, was very reluctant about Christ, but seeing her husband’s change, she has decided to accept us into her home. Sunday, May 17th, was our 3rd meeting. We want to attend every Sunday at 4 pm.

At the first meeting, we watched the movie “Room of War,” and I interpreted the dialogue throughout. It was a great learning experience for the deaf children about prayer. Three of us who attended ended up with tears in our eyes, but our faith was greatly strengthened. On the second Sunday, we watched the movie “Courageous.” There were about nine deaf people and four hearing people. Alejandro invited a new couple, and they left with a positive impression of Jesus Christ. On Sunday, May 17th, we present the film “Fireproof,” which is precisely the type of film we have been using to reach out to deaf people for evangelism.

León:
The deaf brothers have remained faithful, but there are some who have given up because the world has won them over. Marco and I have prayed for the Holy Spirit to bring them back. We have worked again with those brothers by visiting and helping them, but the brothers who have remained have been faithful.

Querétaro:
Brother Romeo and his wife Maria are still separated, but we’ve been with them to keep their faith strong. It’s been difficult, but they’ve remained faithful. They’re struggling with some things, but God is good. We’ve been keeping an eye on them, visiting them as far away as Querétaro.

We continue to visit the brothers who have decided to resign, but at the same time, we will not abandon the brothers who have remained faithful.

Pray for the brothers and sisters of Celaya because there is a couple, Marco and America, who are going through a very difficult situation with their children. Please pray for us that God will provide more people to join the ministry to the deaf, like José Baltazar, a brother from my church who is interested in working with the deaf. He is just beginning to learn Mexican Sign Language (LSM), but the last Sunday he was in Irapuato supporting us, and the deaf children received him very well. Pray for me to share the gospel and discipleship with much love and boldness, that discouragement may not overcome me. Pray for Marco and Jazz so that their marriage grows stronger and they know how to guide their son Mateo.
