In August, two more people were baptized: Jorge and Paola, a married couple from León. Marco Trejo and his wife have been ministering to them. Also, people from Dolores Hidalgo and San Luis de la Paz started contacting us again, saying they wanted to keep learning about Christ. The leaders of the Deaf church and I were surprised. It was clearly the work of the Holy Spirit, and the way He did it was amazing. We even had Deaf people who had stopped attending church tell us they missed the meetings and learning about Christ.
Over the past three and a half years, we have shared the Gospel with 100 Deaf people, and we will continue to evangelize so that more Deaf people can learn about what Jesus Christ did for them on the cross. The Holy Spirit is doing incredible things. He is bringing some people back to the fold and helping others grow in their faith and accepting the Lord’s discipline.
Doors have also opened to share the gospel in Querétaro and the state of Colima. This happened during a trip I took in mid-August. God is opening doors in other places. Praise be to Christ! We will begin evangelism in the states of Querétaro and Colima in October. We will keep you updated on our progress. The advantage of these states is that there are already churches with LSM interpreters, including a Pentecostal church in Colima and a Baptist church in Querétaro. We continue to visit these municipalities:
- Celaya
- León
- Silao
- Irapuato
- Salamanca
- Salvatierra
- Dolores Hidalgo
- San Miguel de Allende
- Querétaro
Prayer and Bible Study Update
Every Tuesday, we meet in person at Marco Trejo’s house with his wife, Jazzkara, José de Jesús and his wife, Brenda, Coco, Cristian, and Víctor. On Wednesdays, we have our Zoom meetings from 9 PM to 10 PM for prayer and from 10 PM to 11 PM for studying the book of James. People from León, Celaya, Irapuato, Salamanca, Silao, Querétaro, and Guanajuato are attending these meetings.
I want to share something that happened last week: in Colima, there’s a sister who is a Mexican Sign Language (LSM) interpreter and a police officer. She told us that the entire police academy in the state of Colima is learning LSM, but, unfortunately, about 12 of them were injured in an accident when their patrol car overturned. When I mentioned this during our prayer meeting, all the Deaf members immediately started praying for the police officers. What was amazing was that when I tried to move on to other prayer requests, they insisted on continuing to pray for the injured officers for the entire hour. It was fantastic to see them unite in prayer.
Prayer Requests:
- Marco is still unemployed but continues to trust that God will give him a job soon.
- Marco and Jazz will also start a marriage training course for the Deaf community in León, which is open to people of any religion. They hope to make connections with other Deaf people and then share the Gospel with them.
- Please continue to pray for us so the gospel can keep spreading among the Deaf community in the states of Guanajuato, Querétaro, and Colima.
