June 2025

Last month, we visited the Deaf in Irapuato (1 person), Salvatierra (13 people), León (6 people), and Silao (3 people), and we carried out several activities during the week via Zoom. Here is an update from each of the cities in central Mexico.

Irapuato: We visited Alejandro in Irapuato. He is very eager to learn about Christ. He is a person who is struggling with personal issues of addiction. He is aware that these addictions do not please God, but he is determined to continue praying, dedicating himself to God, and leaving them behind. He told me in the meeting that he wants to be a pastor in the future. I was surprised and said, “Amen! Let’s continue learning about Christ, but let your love for Christ be the greatest, and leave behind the addictions you have. I know it is difficult because you have become addicted, but of course, it is possible.” And he said, “Of course! Let’s do it.”

Although in Irapuato, there is only one person, this same person wants to be a pastor, and that is what we have been called to do: to make disciples. The Adventist church has entered the city of Irapuato and deceived some brothers who were with us. Pray for us so that we can defend the faith, as it says in Jude.

Salvatierra: Wow! What can I say about Salvatierra? It is where the Lord shut my mouth, where I least expected there to be a response to Christ, hahaha, but God is making a way through the deaf here. In the last meeting, there were about 13 deaf people who learned about John 3:16. The deaf received it with love and with a certain trembling because they knew there were things they were not doing right.

Pray for the people there: Juan and his wife Alejandra, Salvador, Amelia, Viviana, Andrea, Velina and her son, Rodolfo and his wife, and the other three people whose names I do not remember.

Silao: The brothers in Silao are doing well overall. There is one brother in particular who always accompanies us on missions. His name is Cristian. He loves God but is a bit reckless. He is 25 years old. He shows potential to be a missionary, and with good guidance, I believe he can soon become a very good disciple of Christ. The other two brothers are struggling with family issues. Jazzkara and Marco are keeping an eye on them and visiting them.

León: I ask for much prayer for the brothers in León, as they have faced persecution from other deaf people. Some, due to social pressure, have retreated from the gospel. This makes us very sad. We have been praying for them, and some from León have also decided to serve Jesus in an incredible way. Marco has taken them as disciples, but it does not stop there. In August, they will begin the seminary at my church: Marco, Jazzkara, Coco, and Víctor.

Marco has done a lot of work teaching the deaf here in León during the week, teaching about the love of Christ, about sin, about salvation, and various other topics. This has caused some deaf people from other parts of the State to get upset and start sowing discord among the deaf brothers.

Lastly, I would like to share an update from my church. In August of this year, the seminary for leaders will open, and eight deaf people will be included. These deaf people want to serve Christ, and this month we have been preparing the material for the deaf community. We will start recording the videos in June. The brothers who will attend the seminary for two years are: Marco Trejo (León), Jazzkara (León), Coco (León), Víctor (León), Alejandro (Irapuato), Christian (Silao), Alejandro (Querétaro), and Romeo (Querétaro).
