I give infinite thanks to my God and Lord Jesus Christ, who has put me in this very special and beautiful work. God’s call for my life was something that was given a long time ago, but I always ran away from this call because I felt that I was not fit to carry it out. Although I still feel that I am not fit, the Holy Spirit has placed a fire that burns in my heart, and that is the reason why, three years ago, I began the ministry to the Deaf that we now know. From three years ago until now, the gospel has been shared with 83 deaf people, of whom 60 have repented and 40 have been baptized.
Unfortunately, some deaf people have withdrawn from the church, and others continue to learn slowly. But praise to God for those who have decided to follow Christ faithfully! Additionally, right now, six of the deaf people I work with have expressed the desire to enter seminary to train as pastors, teachers, or missionaries: Marco Trejo (León), Jazzkara (León), Coco (Leon), Victor (León), Romeo (Queretaro), and Alejandro (Querétaro). Right now, each one of them is helping minister to the 83 deaf people whom we have been reaching over the past three years.
The last baptism was at the end of March, when 6 deaf people from the municipality of Salvatierra were baptized. There is a waiting list of about 3 deaf people to be baptized soon. Glory to God because He has done everything well!
On April 12 – 13th, the RENOMA (Marriage Renewal) was held, in which 13 couples of hearing and deaf spouses attended. They had the experience of renewing vows, renewing the passion between them, renewing many things, and cleaning things that harming their marriage. We hope to host another conference again soon for others in the Deaf community. It is incredible what God has done in Marco and Jazz’s marriage because three years ago, they were on the verge of divorcing, and now they are hosting marriage conferences to help other deaf couples. Wow, that’s fantastic!
We have been visiting several municipalities, but the municipality that impacted us the most in April was Amealco, Querétaro. We visited a church for deaf indigenous people with about 15 deaf people. They are people who love Christ, and I hope that one day the brothers from the US can go visit that church, as well as another church, “Christ Saves,” with which we have been collaborating in ministry.
Glory to God for everything He is doing with the brothers, each one has their own struggles, but the Spirit of God has not left us. God is wonderful because he has allowed us to be in several municipalities ministering to a large number of deaf people.
We need a lot of help because the “harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
