Below is an update on the ministry to the deaf people in various cities in central Mexico.

Salvatierra: In January, we visited the deaf people there. We resumed the talks about Jesus Christ, and three of the nine deaf people will be baptized. These deaf people have been quite isolated in matters of Christ, and the leader named Juan asks us to talk to his people about Jesus Christ.

Prayer requests for the people in Salvatierra

• That the Holy Spirit continues to work in them.
• That they are given strength, as the city is dangerous. In December 2024, Salvador (one of the deaf boys from Salvatierra) was assaulted.
• God continues to allow us to attend Salvatierra to make disciples.
• For Juan and Alejandra to continue to encourage the deaf people there to learn about Christ.

Salamanca: We have been visiting only one person named Jesús, who has the desire to continue learning about Christ. Please pray his faith does not falter!

León: I have started working with Miguel and his family to bring them back to the paths of Christ. I meet with the brothers from León in person to continue sharing who Christ is. Every week, they are amazed by who Christ is. They have struggled with some things but are progressing little by little. Marco, Jazz, Coco, and Érik have frequently attended church, but it has been difficult for the others to come due to their jobs, as they work in a factory with different shifts.

Prayer requests for the people in León:

• Pray for those who struggle to meet with us and gather for church due to work schedules.
• That the brothers be given strength in Christ to continue sharing the gospel.
• For the marriage of Marco and Jazz, we have seen wonderful changes in them. God is fantastic.
• We have received attacks from deaf people with whom we once shared the gospel, but we stand firm in Christ. We have also received attacks from other Christian brothers who do not agree with how we run the ministry.

Celaya: Due to the number of municipalities we have to visit, it is difficult to visit the brothers in Celaya frequently. Therefore, we decided to divide the work, so Marco and Jazz are traveling to the more distant municipalities, while I (Pepé) travel to those nearby. There are three deaf couples in this city who have been seeking us out because they want to learn more about Jesus Christ. When we first met them and shared the Gospel, they had many serious issues, but God has been doing very good things in their hearts, including uniting them and he continues to work in their lives. 

Prayer requests for the people in Celaya:

• For the three couples: Rodrigo and Miriam; Marco and América; Néstor and Karla.
• The single deaf people of Celaya: Miriam, Lucero, and Ana Rosa.
• The emotional persecution in Celaya is strong: other deaf people have started manipulating many people so that they do not talk to these brothers.

Irapuato: Brother Alejandro has returned to us, glory to Christ! Unfortunately, he lost his job, but we have been close to him so that his faith does not fall again. Alejandro and his wife Violeta have had problems, but Alejandro has faith that his marriage can be restored. We have been teaching about stories of Christ, especially on the topic of forgiveness.

Prayer requests for the people in Irapuato:

• Alejandro is struggling with drugs. He has confessed his problem, and we continue to pray for him and with him.
• For God to bring the brothers of Irapuato back, as they who stopped meeting three years ago.

Querétaro: God is working strongly in this municipality because they have a history of failed marriages. When Romeo and Mary were about to divorce, the Holy Spirit was with them, keeping the marriage together. Three weeks ago, Romeo was about to divorce, but the Lord persuaded him not to, and he did not, but they are still separated. Jazz and Coco have been talking with Mary, and Marco and Érik with Romeo. I am keeping an eye on both of them. There are more deaf people in this city who have invited us to visit so they may know more about Christ, and we will be going soon.

Prayer requests for the people in Querétaro:

• For the marriage of Romeo and Mary, and for their daughter Paula.
• For the other deaf people who want to learn about Christ, like Alejandro and Brando.
• That the work in Querétaro grows.

San Luis de la Paz: Marco and Jazz went to visit the brothers there: Lety (Érik’s wife), Eduardo, and Raúl. They went to encourage them and talk to them more about Christ. They mentioned that there has been strong persecution against Christians by a deaf leader in that city. The persecution is not very strong, but it is enough to discourage them. On January 15, Érik’s second son was born. His name is Santiago, a very beautiful baby. Glory to God for Santiago, Lety (the mother), and Mateo (the first son).

Prayer requests for the people in San Luis de la Paz:

• For the persecution among the deaf for believing in the gospel.
• For Raúl’s life, as they told me he decided to leave the church.
• That Érik and Lety’s marriage will be strengthened.

San Francisco del Rincón: Unfortunately, the person we visited here did not want to learn about Christ. Pray for the Gospel to reach the deaf people in this municipality.

Silao: Yovanni and his wife Rosa, and Christian; these three deaf people are the ones we have been visiting. In the case of the marriage, like the other marriages, they also have many problems, but God has also worked in them, and they want to continue learning about Christ. In the case of Christian, he has all the desire to serve Christ. This month, he became part of the team that serves the other deaf brothers. Pray for continued spiritual growth in these individuals.
